LEATHER CARE

To maintain the beauty of your leather furniture, frequent light dusting is recommended, as dust and soil can be abrasive and damage the finish. Occasionally wipe the surface with a warm, slightly damp, clean cloth to prevent the buildup of oils and dust. Leather is a natural material—avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may cause fading. Each piece of leather is unique; natural markings and grain variations are characteristic and not considered defects.

SPOTS & SPILLS

Immediately blot excess liquid with a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge—do not rub. If needed, use clear, lukewarm water to gently wipe the spill. Dry with a clean towel and allow the area to air dry.

STUBBORN SPOTS & STAINS

Mix a mild, non-detergent soap (such as a facial soap) with clear, lukewarm water in a 1:10 ratio. Apply the solution with a clean, damp sponge, then rinse thoroughly and let the area air dry naturally. Always test the cleaning method on a hidden area first to ensure there is no color fading.

BUTTER, OIL & GREASE

Gently blot the area with a clean, dry cloth—do not use water or cleaning liquids. The spot should gradually dissipate into the leather over time.

FABRIC UPHOLSTERY CARE

For general maintenance, vacuum your upholstered furniture weekly to remove surface dust and prevent dirt from embedding into the fabric. A soft-bristled brush can also be used to gently lift away debris—avoid stiff brushes that may snag the fabric. Prompt attention to spills is essential, as it helps prevent stains from setting into the upholstery fibers.

Accidents may still happen. If a spill occurs, blot immediately with a clean, folded towel—never rub, as this can spread the stain and damage the fibers. Protect your furniture from direct sunlight, which can cause fading and fraying over time. Additionally, airborne pollutants such as cooking fumes and smoke may affect the fabric’s appearance and integrity.

Before deep cleaning, lightly vacuum or brush the furniture to remove loose dirt. Choose a fabric-safe upholstery cleaner that also deodorizes and does not contain harsh chemicals. Test the product on a hidden area first. Apply the cleaner to the stain using a soft brush and let it sit for a minute or two. Avoid scrubbing aggressively. Remove excess cleanser with a damp sponge or cloth, and ensure the fabric dries completely—use a fan or open window to speed up drying if needed.

To extend the life of your furniture:

  1. Use protective covers if you have pets or small children.
  2. Rotate and flip cushions regularly for even wear.
  3. Inspect frequently for stains so they can be treated promptly.
  4. Always start with the mildest cleaning solution when addressing spots or stains.

WOOD & WOOD VENEER CARE

Proper cleaning and dusting are essential to preserving the beauty and longevity of your wood furniture. Dust regularly with a soft, clean cotton cloth to prevent buildup of airborne particles, which can create a filmy layer and cause micro-scratches. Avoid using dry cloths, as rubbing dust into the surface may result in fine abrasions.

Sunlight Protection

Keep wood furniture out of direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can damage the finish and bleach the wood. If sunlight exposure is unavoidable, use curtains, drapes, or blinds to limit direct contact during the day.

Spill & Heat Protection

Always use coasters, placemats, or heat-resistant pads when placing hot or moist items on wood surfaces. Liquids and heat can leave white rings, stains, or permanently damage the finish. Avoid placing items such as alcohol, nail polish remover, or other harsh solvents on or near your wood furniture, as they may cause discoloration or surface damage.

Handling & Placement

Do not drag wood furniture. Always lift when moving to avoid damaging the legs or scratching the floor. Keep sharp or pointed objects away to prevent scratches. For outdoor wood furniture, provide shade or cover during intense sun or rain to prolong its life.

Moisture & Humidity

Avoid excessive use of water when cleaning. Moisture can stain, swell, or warp the wood. Maintain stable indoor humidity levels to minimize seasonal expansion or contraction. Use only cleaning products recommended by your furniture dealer—harsh chemicals may cause discoloration or uneven patches.
